I am Lauren Goodwin, I am honored to be the First-born Grandchild of Annie Pearl Shanks. Grandmother lived for 103 years and 10 months. In this time she had many seasons. Those who knew her had the experience of being close to her in different seasons of her life. She was gifted in that she had a way of making all friends and family feel loved. I will forever be grateful as I feel she saved my life. I know there are others who feel the same way. I will cherish the lessons she gave me in cooking, gardening, and other domestic work and pass those along to my offspring. She was our example of humility, selflessness and integrity. Thank you to everyone for your acts of sympathy and support in our family's great time of loss of our Matriarch. Though we are hurting because we will miss her physical presence, we are also rejoicing because know that Grandmother lived a life that was pleasing to GOD and will rest in eternal peace.
