Ann Rector was born on December 15, 1952, to the late Alice Irene Smith and Sullivan Jasper Duck. She gained her wings on June 29, 2023.
Ann received her degree in Liberal Arts from University of Cincinnati and a certificate in Computer programming from Southern Ohio College.
Ann was sassy, funny, loved to have a good time, loved spending time with family and friends, loved her grand and great grandchildren, and loved various genres of music especially gospel, jazz, and R&B. She was an amazing cook and was most famous for her ox tail soup, sweet potato pies, and dressing.
Ann loved her family and would give the shirt off her back to those in need and was very protective of her children, family, and friends. She was full of knowledge and didn’t mind sharing it with others. Two of the many words used to describe her would be supportive and giving. Ann was nurturing and fun. She gave her all to everything she did.
Ann worked at Avon for many years. She then went to work at New Beginnings, as a house manager, where she nurtured and looked after at-risk young women and later became a secretary of Diverse Investment Inc.
Ann loved to travel and was a huge advocate of Christmas, which was her favorite holiday. She loved “good” food and was a true bid whist and spade player.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Latressa Jarmon (Rashawn); son, David Rector; grandchildren, Jenae Harris, Dasia Raglin and Kennedy Rector; and great grandchildren, Derrick, Mason, and Ashlyn; her siblings, Pauline Young, Frank Rector, Jesse Rector, Daisy Hitchcock; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
