Andrew Lee Johnson, Jr. was born on July 12, 1963 to Ocealia M. and Andrew Lee Johnson, Sr. He was the second born child of six children and their only son.
Called by his middle name, Lee began showing artistic ability at the young age of 5 years old. His father, Andrew Sr., recalls drawing pictures in the sand while Lee watched and his face lit up with excitement and imagination. That was the beginning of a lifelong love of art, using his God-given talent to create beautiful, original artwork through his younger years and ultimately to build his career.
In August 2002, Lee married his love and beautiful bride Rosemary Villanueva. To that union was born a son Julian Isaac Johnson, now 9-years old. Julian has inherited the artistic ability of his dad and both grandfathers. Julian attends the School for Creative and Performing Arts, where his dad also attended, then graduated from Withrow HS.
Lee’s artwork can be seen in personal portraits displayed in family homes to large-scale art installations at automotive dealerships around the tri-state area. Always a free spirit with a big personality and an infectious sense of humor, he enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and drew everyone around him into the same authentic joy.
Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Ocealia M. Johnson, and is survived by his father, Andrew Lee Johnson, Sr., step-mother Irene Johnson; sisters Ann Lundy, Alesia Johnson, Andrea Martinez, Adele Johnson-Kebe and Elaine Bonneau; wife Rosemary Johnson and their son Julian Johnson; and son Joshua Dunklin.
