Andrew attended Roll Hill Elementary School and Midway Elementary School. Andrew loved to try new things and learned to clog while at Midway. Andrew also discovered his passion for bowling in elementary school. Andrew began attending Lee Chapel AME, with his mother Cathy and sister Connie at the age of 10. Andrew was baptized at the age of 10. He participated in the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Thanksgiving Outreach, Angel Choir and the Young Peoples Division (YPD). Andrew also often helped in the kitchen. While attending Dater Junior High, Andrew joined the Boy Scouts. Andrew enjoyed the companionship and skills that he learned. Andrew continued to serve the Boy Scouts as a young adult to help other young men learn and grow. Andrew attended Western Hills High School and graduated in 1996. While in high school, Andrew continued to participate in the Boy Scouts and bowling teams. Andrew worked at Kings Island and loved it. Andrew worked in rides as a teen and in Health and Safety as an adult. After high school, Andrew attended Cincinnati State where he earned his EMT Certification. Andrew served as a volunteer fireman for the City of Cleves for many years. He would often share stories of the emergency runs he went on and the interesting reasons and outcomes. Andrew was very proud to serve others. Andrew worked security at the Bengals stadium and through that company, he worked security for two Super Bowls. As an adult Andrew found a passion for dart throwing and would attend tournaments with friends. Andrew also loved to play dominos and cook. Andrew was great at both of these things. Andrew loved to teach others to play dominos, but just enough so that he would be able to win! Andrew had a passion for cooking and was very good at it. He made a fantastic steak on the grill. Andrew loved to help others and would try to in any way that he could.
In 2018, Andrew decided that it would be best for him to move into a skilled living facility to help manage his illnesses. Andrew moved into Otterbein Senior Living in Middletown, Ohio. There he became an extra set of eyes to monitor the elderly and sick. While he was a resident himself and needed care, he felt it was his duty to keep a watchful eye over others. While residing there, Andrew was a member of their bowling team and proudly attended tournaments on other Otterbein Campus. Andrew would also often cook for the other residents. He became certified through their kitchen program and would often make meals such as fried chicken and collard greens on Sundays. In 2023, Andrew moved to Forest Hills Care Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Andrew immediately found a purpose by delivering the mail to other residents. Andrew kept a watchful eye over the other residents and the staff. He would immediately report anything he saw or heard! Andrew was particular about his care and how he felt things should run in the facility. He would often tell these things to his sister who would remind him that she was not involved with that facility. Andrew watched Lee Chapel streaming church services faithfully each week and would invite other residents to join him. Andrew enjoyed the Men of Faith choir and they performed at the nursing facilities. Andrew enjoyed his regular weekend outings with his sister. He shared a love of Mexican food with his sister and would often enjoy a Virgin Pina Colada with his meal. He enjoyed going to the occasional Reds Game, movies, trying new restaurant’s, and grocery shopping.
Andrew struggled with his various illnesses throughout his life and tried to remain positive. Andrew tried to live his life to the fullest. He enjoyed and appreciated visits from friends and family. He enjoyed all the phone calls from those who could not visit. Andrew loved his family, friends, and church family. Andrew was firm in his faith and love for God. Andrew passed peacefully on August 9, 2024.
Andrew was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, CJ and Bobbie Smith, maternal grandparents, John and Josephine McBeth, father, Andrew C Williams, Sr., mother Clara C. Davis, step father, Darrell Davis, aunt Mary L Smith, aunt Diane Williams, uncle Charlie Smith, uncle John McBeth. Andrew leaves behind his sister, Connie Conwell (Gregory), and nieces Kira J. Williams, Jala T. Harris, and Angel A. Conwell. Andrew also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
