Sylvester D. Randolph, born March 20, 1943, entered eternal rest peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, with his devoted wife by his side.
Sylvester was born to the late Willie L. Randolph and Ollie Bell Randolph. He accepted Christ at an early age at New Salem Baptist Church, Washington, Ga. where his faith journey began and remained a guiding force throughout his life.
He graduated from Murden High School in June 1961. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Tank Commander from 1965 to 1971, during which time he was deployed to Germany. He later enlisted in the United States Army National Guard from 1979 to 1981. He also received his certification in HVAC training
In the early 1970s, Sylvester established Randolph Body Shop in Walnut Hills, where he became known not only for his skill and work ethic but also for his integrity and service to the community.
In 1977, he met the love of his life, Nancye. On December 16, 1978, they were united in marriage and shared 47 beautiful years together built on love, faith, and devotion.
Sylvester was a faithful member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where he served diligently as a trustee and church treasurer. He was also a proud member of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Ohio Free and Accepted Masons, Corinthian Lodge No. 1. In April 2022, he was honored with a 50-year certificate of service, a testament to his lifelong commitment and brotherhood.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Angela Capell; his parents, Willie L. and Ollie Bell Randolph; and his siblings Eddie Junior Randolph, Willie Bell Fulton, Christine Warren, Sammy D. Randolph, Freddie Lee Randolph, and Mary Helen Randolph.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Nancye Randolph; daughters Beverlyn Seroy and Lisa Smith; brothers Albert Lee Randolph and James Frank Randolph, Sr.; grandchildren D’Anita Hatcher, Brandon Smith, Jeffrey Mills Jr., and Jamiel Seroy; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Sylvester’s life was marked by faith, service, hard work, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
