Selma R. Calhoun was born on October 14, 1939, to the late Thomas E. Green and the late Theresa Barnett Winters. Selma worked at General Electric for 25 plus years until her retirement in January 2005. Her hobbies included crochet, holiday crafts, making homemade white chocolate covered pretzels and her famously delicious strawberry pie.
Selma single handedly raised 5 beautiful and loving children that she gave her all too. Proceeding Selma in death is her first-born daughter Robin Calhoun (1986). She leaves her remaining children to cherish her memory and honor her legacy; Daughter Phyllis “Cookie” Davis (Joel), Son’s – Phillip Green, Robert “Weedie” Calhoun, and Randy Calhoun (Charlene).
She leaves 5 grandchildren to cherish her memory: LaTia Blackwell, Whitney Hicks, Randy Calhoun jr., Robin C Calhoun, and Robert Rachel. She also leaves 5 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter to continue her legacy: Demetrius, Elijah, Ryan, Jaxson, Leo, and Bleu. As well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, loving relatives, friends, and honorary children/neighbors.
