Rosa Lee Tolbert-Folmar

On July 19, 2024, Rosa Lee Tolbert-Folmar, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at the age of 79. Rosa was born November 7, 1944, to the late John H. Tolbert Sr. and Solamie M Pollard-Smith in Troy, Alabama.

She was survived by her children, twins Mitchell and Michael Folmar, Ronald Folmar, and Gabe (April) Folmar. Along with Daughter-in-law Stacey Davis, brother Fred Tolbert, and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Rosa was preceded in death by her son Daniel Folmar, brother John Tolbert Jr, sisters Ruby L McBride-Smith, Annie L Tolbert-Woods, and daughter-in-law Clarissa Folmar.

Rosa married Wayne Folmar on February 10, 1962. She left her home in Troy, Alabama in September of 1966 with her twin boys and moved to Hamilton, Ohio, where she had 3 more boys and resided for the remainder of her life. Rosa was a strong willed, hard worker with a contagious smile that would light up a room. She wanted nothing but the best for her children. The only things she asked out of her boys, was to be strong, truthful, hardworking, and loving men. Rosa liked to relax reading a good novel, a crossword puzzle or word search.

Rosa asked that you not grieve for her, instead, thank God for the time she was here and each memory you had with her. In her words, this is not goodbye, I’ll see you soon.
