Minnie Settles

January 8, 1936 - December 4, 2011

Minnie Flowers Davis Settles was born in Indianola,
MS on January 8, 1936 to the late Reese Flowers, Sr. and
Katie Matthews Flowers. She was preceded in death by
nine siblings.
She was married to the Reverend Robert Settles. She
was united with the St. James A.M.E. Church, serving as
the Secretary. She sang with the Church Choir, the Choir
of the Mountains, and the Community Church Choir,
often singing as a soloist.
She was the President of the Southern West Virginia
Action for Youth Center of Williamson.
Mrs. Settles leaves to cherish her memory: her husband,
the Reverend Robert Settles; three children, Sheila Flowers,
Rhonda Brown and Willie (Linda) Davis; seven stepchildren,
including Senita Graves, Allifa, Robert R. (Martha),
Eugene (Linda), Oded, Timothy and Garland Settles; her
eldest brother, John (Lula) Flowers; and a host of other
relatives and friends.

To Uncle, Georgie& Linda,and Sheila. Know that Auntie is not in pain anymore. She has gone to her new home in Heaven. Grieve not, but Rejoice, for God has her now and she will be singing for Him in His Heavenly Choir.

Robert, you have my deepest sympathy for the loss of dear Minnie. I am blessed for having met her at the Chaplain's Retreat.

I am so sorry for this heart breaking loss. Heaven has gained an angel and praise God we will see her again someday if we let God "Order My Steps". The 5th Avenue Church deeply mourns her loss.

On December 4th, Heaven received a great Christian lady whose beautiful voice can now be heard singing in the heavenly chorus. We will miss her a lot, but we know she is in a better place.

I feel very privileged to have known Minnie Settles. She was a great lady with a lovely voice and I know that because of her rendition of "Order My Steps", I have a closer walk with God. I will miss Minnie, she and Robert are a part of the Christian fellowship shared in this community.
