A precious life ended February 8, 2014 when Melvin Thomas Barksdale was taken from us.
We feel he is at rest with our Heavenly Father. Melvin now has fulfilled his purpose here on earth and his family. Though we may weep, we will rejoice with him and thank our Heavenly Father for the life he lived among us and for taking him to the Land of Glory.
Melvin was the first of five children born to the late Thomas and Betty Barksdale. Melvin attended Hughes High School. Melvin was known for cooking anything and everything. He kept us all laughing. He loved the Cincinnati Bengals, family and his dogs. Melvin met his soulmate, Tereasa in 1992 and married Tereasa, January 15, 1999. He was in wedded bliss until his death. Melvin and Tereasa had just celebrated 15 years together. Melvin worked for Innotech Heater Meals for the past four years. Melvin was always there for everyone. His favorite hangout was Chatam with the fellas.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Tereasa Barksdale; two sons, Julien Jackson and
Marlon Everson; one daughter, Elaysa (Ben) Smith; three brothers, Michael (Nicole), Marcus and Marlon Barksdale; one sister, Melanie (Johnnie) Pugh; one stepson, Alfredo Everson; two grandchildren; father and mother-in-law; four sister-in-laws; three brother-in-laws; a host of uncles, aunts, family and friends; and a special brother, Eric Thompson who introduced Melvin to his wife, Tereasa.
