Laura Mae Reliford was born to the union of
the late Charles and Mary S. Johnson Ferguson on
March 11, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio. While she
was still very young, she was taken to Covington,
Kentucky where she and her two sisters lived with
their maternal grandmother.
Laura returned to Cincinnati and worked for
many years as a seamstress. She loved to cook,
bake, sew, crochet, draw (a great drawer) and life
in general.
She endured a sudden illness. Laura had a strong
will to live, but her body tired out and succumbed
to the illness. God called her home at 4:25 p.m. on
Saturday, June 8, 2013. She was preceded in death
by both parents; her husband, James W. Reliford
(Babe); and her two sisters, Rose Jackson and
Emma Headen.
She leaves to Celebrate her home going: two
children, Janet L. Reliford-Harris and James R.
Reliford (Buddy); a daughter-in-law, Betty Reliford;
six grandchildren, Pamela Reliford, Tamela
Mooney, Kimberly Crawford, James (Ronnie)
Reliford, Kesha Madaris and Rodriquez Madaris;
16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren;
one goddaughter, Selena Stovall; a host
of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She will truly be missed.
