Karen Gayle Mason was born November 11,
1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the second
oldest of four children.
Karen attended Cincinnati Public Schools. She
graduated from Courter Tech School in 1970
(one of the best Classes). She was in the Marching
Band for four years and played the clarinet of
which she truly loved to play and enjoyed the
band tremendously. The band traveled in town
as well as out of town to play. She later attended
Southern Western College and graduated with an
Associates Degree in Business.
In the middle of the eighties, she was baptized
in the name of Jesus at Bethel Pentecostal Apostolic
Faith Church under the pastorate of the late
Dr. Eva P. Carter. In 2002, the spirit of God filled
Karen with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost,
speaking in other tongues. She joined New Jerusalem
Apostolic Temple under the pastorate of
the late Bishop Alfred Nickles. She served faithfully
as Praise Team Leader, Choir Member and
Treasurer of the Choir and Church Finance Committee.
She also served faithfully in other areas as
needed at the church with a glad heart.
Karen also had a long-standing, fulfilling career.
She was employed with Cincinnati Bell Company
after graduating from high school. Later, she was
employed with ?The Busy Bea Detail Car Shop?
(cousins/family owned) business. In 1985, she
began her career with Christ Hospital. She was a
faithful, dependable and devoted employee for
25 years. At the time of her retirement, due to her
illness, she served as an Assistant Manager in the Central Supply Department. She met friends along
the way and was well liked by those she came in
contact with.
Karen truly loved her children, family and
family gatherings. They were very important to
her. She also cherished the times she spent with
her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They
were very dear to her heart. She had a caring
and giving spirit; was always willing to help if she
could. She also enjoyed fishing and bowling, so
much that she had her own fishing poles and her
own bowling ball. She was a fun kind of person.
She was preceded in death by her father,
Robert Mason; grandmother, Elizabeth Rice; greatgranddaughter,
LaKeia Mason; brother, Marcus
