




















































Joseph Verl Peterson, Jr. was born on July 28, 1943 to Martha (Satterwhite) and Joseph V. Peterson.
Joseph began his career in music. As a child, Joseph attended Calvary Methodist Church. Joseph’s love for music led him overseas to Europe for three years. His career led him to several venues: New York Rockefeller Center, Chicago, Detroit and Atlantic City. Joseph and his group also per-formed at the Cincinnati Jazz Festival, The Cincinnati Black Family Reunion and five plus years at the Hyatt Regency. He spent time with groups like Ritchie and The Students, Otis Williams and The Charms. He was the lead singer for The Rock n Roll Regency’s. His final group was The Regency’s.
In 2003, Joseph married his loving wife, Mary Peterson. Joseph was preceded in death by his father and mother; sisters, Hattie Bell Peterson and Tina Jarvis; brother, Michael Peterson; and son, Terrance Peterson.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife of 12 years, Mary; three sons, Joseph V. Peterson III (Cynthia), Michael Peterson (Teri) and Titus Peterson; four daughters, Adrian Henderson, Mary Jackson, LaTehya Peterson and Birgitte Peterson; brothers, Johnny Peterson (Patti) and Ronald Brooks (Dihna); sisters, Theresa Luke of Chicago, Sharon Hicks of Las Vegas, Diana Sherer of Las Vegas, Yolanda (Rev. Glenn Johnson) of Chicago and Cassandra Sims of Chicago; 17 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
