Grace Delores Odoms was born on July 17, 1946, to Jesse Odoms and Myrtle Ivory (Odoms) in Meridian, Mississippi. The family migrated to Covington, Kentucky where she attended Central High School, graduating in 1964. She married Arthur L. Thomas on January 12, 1966, and was blessed with 2 children, Arthur L. Thomas Jr. and Chris Thomas.
Grace worked as a secretary and executive assistant for Dun & Bradstreet for over 30 years. She was a diligent and dependable worker, only missing five sick days her entire career there, after retiring for a short time, she went back to work at Lincoln Financial until she retired from there in 2018.
Grace served faithfully at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in various capacities which included being a member of the Usher board, after leaving Macedonia she joined St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church continuing her legacy as a member of the Usher board. Her journey ended peacefully on January 31, 2026.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Myrtle; 2 brothers, Jesse and Julius; 5 sisters, Rosie, Anne, Ishi, Joyce and Mary, along with her nephew Richard, who was raised as a brother. She leaves to carry on her legacy, her sister Mahailey Alice, her sons Arthur L. Thomas and Chris Thomas (Christina), grandson Michael Alexander Chapman, granddaughter Alyssa Hope Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
