Gene, Planes will never be the same. Only knew you for a short time. Will always miss your hello Miss Terri in the morning with a big smile and the walks to our car at the end of the day. What a Tribute yesterday. I am so glad I made the choice to be there to see and feel the Love. I wept, laughed, mourned, and danced. It is a service I will never forget. We will meet again. Rest in Peace Gene. My Prayer and thoughts go out to your beautiful family. Love , Terri Hawley

What a joy to work with someone who could be both firm and kind at the same time. He was very dedicated to his job but would always have a moment to talk with someone or ask how you were doing. I will forever miss him here at work. It will not be the same.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy on your loss of Eugene. No one should have to experience losing a loved one, when it was never intended for mankind to experience. Revelations 21:4 provides much comfort when having to deal with this for now. "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." We will be able to see our love ones again, without experiencing death anymore as a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous will take place. (Acts 24:15) Sincerely, Kim

Gene was a basketball official that loved the game. In addition to his regular assignments he was always willing to fill in and always with a smile. Contact him at the last minute and he would say, "I can help, just tell me where to go". The athletic staff at all Greater Miami Conference schools will miss him and the enthusiasm he brought to our games. Steve Shuck, Greater Miami Conference

I worked with Gene when he first came to Lakota at Hopewell Junior High. Then he also came to the High School to teach. I always enjoyed and had a fun day team teaching with Gene. We had fun sharing responsibilty as well as having lots of fun with the students. I always missed my days teaching with Gene when he went to Planes. It was just never the same. He truly made me understand what team teaching was about. I have very wonderful memories of Gene. I also always enjoyed him coming out to our house. We would watch boxing matches together, he would bring his mother out to our place and she just loved our dogs. I am so grateful that I would stop in at Planes to visit with Gene. It was always talk about our wonderful memories of teaching together and the fun we had together. What a super person. You are loved dearly and will Miss you. May God's Blessings be upon your family to comfort them in loss. Linda Neff

Its not going to be the same at Planes without him. He will be greatly missed by all.

I dont know why but every time I would walk into dispatch Gene would start laughing. It was good to see that ear to ear smile on his face and to hear the laughter. I will never forget the first flight he ever took when obtaining his pilots liscense. I flew to Blue Ash airport to see him off and when I arrived he was doing his pre-flight inspection. He looked a little worried but happy at the same time. I took off ahead of him and his instructor. They went their way and I went mine. I saw Gene the next day and we were like little boys again. I saw joy in that mans face most of us never see. I will truly miss you Gene. God bless you and your family. I love you brother
