Clyde Gaines, devoted father and brother,
was born April 29, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio to
the late Essie Mae Gaines Perkins. He answered
God’s call and departed this earthly life for
eternal rest Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at
Hospice of Cincinnati-Blue Ash.
Clyde obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Education
from Miami University. Clyde worked at
Micro Center for 25 years as a Knowledge
Expert until his health failed, taking him to
early retirement. He enjoyed being with his
family, especially during the holidays, birthdays
and family reunions.
Clyde and his brother, James enjoyed building
radios and taking electronic appliances apart
as children. This carried over into his adult life
as his love for working on computers and building
computers became his passion. Everyone
called Clyde if they had a problem with their
computer or even the smallest question. Clyde
loved to make people laugh. He especially
enjoyed bowling, going out to eat with Cara
and shopping at Gabriel Brothers and Big Lots.
His favorite pastime was watching TV, especially
cartoons.
Clyde, a devoted family man, leaves to
cherish his memory: two children, Christopher
Michael Gaines and Cara Morgan Gaines; two
granddaughters, Chanelle’ Marie Joi Trammell
and Miracle Iman Taylor; five sisters, Jacqueline Gaines Kebede, Charlotte Gaines, Belinda
Harris, Gwendolyn Elliott (Daryl) and Darlene
Perkins; a host of nieces, nephews and friends;
former in-laws, Myrtle Thompson, Donna
Odom, Jimmie Odom, Denise Givens, James
Givens, Sr., Michael Thompson, Sr., Pamela
Ellis, Rodney Ellis and Donald Thompson, Jr.;
his longtime friends, Catherine Gaines, Don
Perkins, Deborah Fisher, Tony Thomas, Jim
Busse, Jerry Arens, Rick Eling, Michelle Thompson
and the Micro Center Family.
His mother, Essie Mae Gaines Perkins and
brother, James Gaines, preceded him in death.
