Carnelia Ardella Sanders made her grand debut into the world on September 28, 1936 to the union of Douglas and Alberta Cannon Sanders in Marion, AL. She was the fourth sibling out of 11 children. She confessed in Christ at an early age and baptized into the Holy Spirit at Springhill Baptist Church in Marion, AL. Carnelia transitioned into God’s loving care on October 4, 2023.
At an early age, Carnelia relocated from Marion, AL to Cincinnati, OH where she met and married Jeremiah Sanders, who proceeded her in death in 2007. As a result of this union, four shining stars were produced: Cynthia, Andrea, Eric, and Jerry. Carnelia was a long-time employee of Children’s Hospital, where she worked as a Nurse’s Assistant. After she retired from Children’s, she continued to care for the elderly by serving as a Home Health Care Aide. She also loved to shop and stay stylish, decorate, travel, dine out, and was an amazing cook.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Douglas and Alberta, brothers: Willie Bob Sanders and Douglas Sanders; sisters: Sadie Jean (Sanders) Miree, Lauree (Sanders) Woods, Melonese (Sanders) Scott, Essie (Sanders) Holland; daughter Andrea Sanders; and grandson Devon Heard.
Carnelia was loved by many. She leaves behind many shining stars, who hold her dear in memory; children: Cynthia Sanders, Eric Sanders, and Jerry (Teresa H.) Sanders, Jr.; grandchildren: Tiffany (James) Harrison, Jenae Sanders, Jaylynn Sanders; great-grandchildren: Myles, Jayden, and Cartyr Harrison and Ariyah Lovette; sisters Helen (Waymon) Melton of Sprout, AL; Beverlyn (Sanders) Bennett of Marion, AL; Lolita (Sanders) Bullock of Buffalo, NY; Andree Sanders of Huntsville, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
