




Brenda Elizabeth Key, the tenth of 14 children was born on October 12, 1949 to the late Luella Mae White Key and Bailey Walter Key in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from Lincoln Heights High School. Brenda attended The University of Cincinnati and graduated from Southern Ohio College with an Associates Degree in Accounting. She was employed by General Electric Co., Holland & Holland, Inc. and retired from Formica Corporation, where Brenda worked as a payroll specialist for over 25 years.
Brenda attended the Friendship Baptist Church in Lincoln Heights, Ohio at an early age. As a teenager, she was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1966 at the First Pentecostal Church of Blue Ash, Ohio under the late Bishop Eddie Lee Foster. In April 1973, Brenda moved her membership to Emanuel Tabernacle, Walnut Hills, Ohio under Elder Paul A. Bowers, now Bishop Paul A. Bowers, Emeritus, where she was a devoted member for over 40 years. She participated in various areas of the church, including the Sunday School (a Sunday School teacher), Youth Choir, Women’s Ministry, Single and Saved, Adopt A Senior and Undercover Saints. Brenda was active in the S.O.D. and was an officer of the Ohio District Council.
Brenda loved Jesus, her Family, the Saints, her Friends, travel- ing and science fiction. Brenda was a “Trekkie” and a member of a local Star Trek Chapter and traveled to Trekkie Conventions and a Trekkie cruise to meet the T.V. stars and movie actors. Brenda made a mean meatloaf; ask anyone who ate it.
Brenda was preceded in death by Bailey W. Key, father, Luella Mae Key, mother, Beverly Key, sister, Eugene Luckey, special nephew, Bessie M. Luckey, sister, James W. Key, Sr., brother, Sarah Shemwell, special godmother and Eugene Brady, special friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three brothers, John W. Key, Sr. (Estelle), Jesse Key, Sr. and Joseph Key, Sr. (Cynthia), all of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven sisters, Beatrice Brown, Barbara J. Debow (Thomas), Beulah L. Cloud, all of Tennessee, Betty J. Gray (Charles), Bernice E. Woodard, Belinda S. Key and Beulina K. Holland (Clayburn), all of Cincinnati, Ohio; special nephew, Clayburn Holland, III; special niece, Elizabeth J. Holland; spe- cial friends, Louanna Porter, Patricia Holland, Toni Chapman, Priscilla Sutton and Cassandra Freed; goddaughter, Rikki Nunn and godgrandson, Geno Nunn; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
