Reverend Alvin Lee Richardson, B.S., M. DIV., was born on June 26, 1928 in Middletown, Ohio to the late Mr. Robert Richardson, Sr. and the late Mrs. Amanda (East) Richardson. He was the youngest of 4 children. Rev. Richardson attended Middletown Public Schools graduating in 1947 from Middletown High School. He graduated from Central State University in 1975 (Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology. He was a 1978 graduate of the United Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree. In 1990, he studied Elementary Education at Central State University. Rev. Richardson was called home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 21, 2013. He was joined in marriage in 1948 to the late Mrs. Margie Leen (Gresham) Richardson and to this union they had 3 daughters. Rev. Richardson was preceded in death by: his parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Amanda Richardson, Sr., three brothers Robert, Oscar and Earl Richardson, granddaughter Carolyn Nicole Dickerson and wife of 38 years, Eleanor E. Richardson. He leaves to cherish his memory daughters: Karen A. Richardson (Oak Park, MI), Karla F. Dickerson (Oak Park, MI) and Kassandra L. (Kenneth) Moore (Middletown, OH), grandsons Shawn D. Dickerson (Memphis, TN), Anson J. Pride (Middletown, OH), great-grandsons Phillip Dickens and Shawn D. Dickerson, Jr. and many other relatives and friends. Rev. Richardson retired from the City of Hamilton (31 years) as a State Certified wastewater plant shift supervisor. He was also employed by the Middletown City School District as a certified substitute Elementary School Teacher and at the Butler County Mental Health Services as a job coach. Rev. Alvin L. Richardson has served his church, the United Missionary Baptist Church of Middletown, Ohio as a Trustee, Deacon, Chairman of the Steering Committee, Associate Pastor, Assistant Pastor and 5 times Interim Pastor. He lastly served in the capacity of Senior Associate Minister as well as having dual membership at Monroe Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the NAACP and the African-American Ministerial Alliance.
