Our mother Alicia Denise Tidwell (Styles) affectionately called Lisa was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 3-5-2025. Alicia was born on April 15,1953 to Joseph B. Styles and Marlene J. Styles (Stevenson). Alicia was born and raised in the West End before moving to College Hill. Alicia attended Sands Elementary, Bloom Jr. High School and graduated from Aiken High School.
Alicia worked for the IRS out of High School, Liberals grocery store, she worked 20+years at Multi Color where she worked side by side with her mother Marlene. Alicia worked over 14 years for the global eyeglass retailer Luxottica Retail. Alicia was an intricate part of Luxottica’s mentoring group which she took pride in, and it was one of her biggest achievements. Alicia raised over $4,000,000 in donations and scholarships for the mentoring program. Alicia was also able to provide laptops to High School students and have a successful graduation rate of 98%. Alicia helped to support over 1300 High School students through the mentoring program. Alicia decided after leaving Luxottica to start her own Consulting Business called Genesis One Consulting, where she coached and mentored businesses and people while infusing diversity and inclusion. Alicia ended her career with the St. Ursula Academy where she was the VP of Community Advancement, Equity and Inclusion. While Alicia loved raising money for events such as the St. Ursula gala’s, the Palooza’s, working with the staff and partnering with the businesses to provide strategic counsel to advance St. Ursula Academy, her biggest achievement was working with her beloved students and forging relationships with them. She loved them all and they all became her children.
Alicia leaves behind her three children Vatrina R. Barksdale (Sarvell), Cecil L. Tidwell (Trena Richardson) and Demond Tidwell (Jelletta Francis), her sister Yvonne Beckham (Bill Garrett), brother Marlon J. Styles Sr. (Christine), sister Venita Young (Terry) also her two grandsons, Bryon L. Tidwell and Latrell D. Tidwell and her four great grandchildren Braylon Korynn, Jabari and Suede Tidwell and a host of loving nieces, nephews and loving and supportive friends.
