Alice was born in Starksville, Mississippi on March 28, 1940. She was the fourth eldest to the union of Peter and Rosia Dale (nee) Outlaw Lowry. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, March 29, 2024, with her family at her bedside in her home. Peter and Rosia decided they wanted their children to receive the education and opportunity they didn’t receive, so they relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1942.
Alice was united in Holy Matrimony to Carlis Barnett on October 8, 1961. To this union were born four children: George, Marla, Harlon, and Candice. Alice was employed at Keebler Bakery in Mariemont, Ohio from 1966 and retired in 2005. Some of her duties were as a union steward. She was a woman of many talents, from a loving mother, grandmother, sister, master cook, and baker with all her delicious pound cakes.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Carlis Barnett; son, George; four brothers, Lovelace, Leroy, James, and Bobby; and one sister, Luvenia Nash.
Alice leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Marla, Harlon, and Candice; ten grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; two sisters, Castella Saturday, and Marie Houston; two brothers, Nathaniel Lowry, and Peter Lowry Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
