Quincey Ellis Johnson was a native of Cincinnati, OH, and was born on February 5, 1979 to the union of Donnie and Kimberly Johnson. Quincey graduated from Winton Woods High School, Forest Park, OH in 1997. He joined the United States Army Reserves and attended Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and graduated Advanced Individual Training as a Dental Specialist at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
In May 2000 he entered Active Duty and was assigned to Fort Stewart, GA. He deployed to Kosovo in MAY 2001 and to Iraq in MAR 2003. He was in charge of the Oral Surgery Clinic at Tripler Army Medical Center, HI, and deployed in support of Operation Balikatan in 2005. After graduating from the Preventive Dentistry Specialty Course (X2), in SEP 2007, he was stationed at Fort Irwin, CA and served as the soldier in charge of the Preventative Dentistry and also as the Practice Manager at Shuttleworth Dental Clinic.
After reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant he was accepted to Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in NOV 2009. After graduating Military Police (MP) School on 12 JUL 2010 he was assigned to Grafenwoehr, Germany. Quincey deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 11-12. While in Afghanistan he was in charge of the Brigade Tactical Explosive Detection Dog Teams, MP Working Dog Teams, and also served as the Brigade Battle Captain. Upon redeployment he joined the MP Battalion at Grafenwoehr, as the S-3 Assistant Operations Officer.
His military education includes the Dental Specialist Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Preventive Dentistry Specialty Course (X2), Forensic Dental ID and Emerging Technologies, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Officer Candidate School, and Antiterrorism Officer Basic Course.
His awards and decorations include the Presidential Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Citation, Combat Medical Badge, Army Commendation Medal with Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with 4 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Contact Medal with Bronze Three Knot Device, National Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal with Bronze Star Device, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Bronze Star Device, Iraq Campaign Medal with Bronze Star Device, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with Two Device, NATO Medal, NATO Kosovo Medal, and Driver’s Badge.
Those who had the honor of knowing or serving with Quincey deeply mourn his passing. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Jennifer, his 2 beautiful children, Keira (age 7) and Caleb (age 4), his loving parents, Donnie and Kimberly Johnson, and his 5 younger siblings whom he cherished and loved dearly, Casey Fisher, Cheri Jordan (Brandon), Dorsey Johnson (Jhanel), Donnie Johnson Jr, Kelly Johnson, grandparents Lucille Berry (William), 7 nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
