William (Bill) Harold Malone, Sr., was born on September 23, 1930 and was the son of the late Charlie and Clare Mae Fomby Malone. He departed this life on Thursday, April 5, 2012. Bill?s mother passed during his infancy and he was raised by his loving uncle and aunt, Ralph and Juliette (Fomby) Wright, both of whom preceded him in death.
When his family relocated from Georgia to Ohio, he attended Lincoln Heights Elementary and Lockland Wayne High School. During his years in school, he developed an interest in music. His avid love of music resulted in his playing the saxophone. He became a very seasoned and passionate saxophonist. He often spoke of his ?jam sessions? with notable local musicians. He was retired from General Motors Company after 24 years of service.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and when located in Lockland, he served as an usher and later with the church?s transition to Woodlawn, he sang in the male chorus.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 32 years, Juanita and his four children; his son, William II (Dr. Annette) of Powell, Ohio, his daughter, Janice (Dr. Stewart Harris) of Cincinnati, Ohio, his son, Perry of Cincinnati, Ohio and his son, Timothy (Nicole) of Virginia; his aunt, Alice Fomby Saunders of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Ora and Cora Williams; brother-in-law, Earl (Opal) Williams of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
