Timothy James Kask, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and veteran, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on January 14, 1949, in Moline, Illinois, to Henry and Marilyn Kask. Tim was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country with honor.
Timothy’s educational achievements were commendable. He earned an Associate’s degree from Blackhawk College, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies from Southern Illinois University. He furthered his education at Xavier University, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Education.
Timothy’s passion for creativity and storytelling led him to become the first editor of Dragon Magazine, and he made a mark in the gaming community as a game designer for role-playing games (RPGs). He dedicated his later years to education, serving as a substitute teacher, where he touched the lives of many students.
On July 10, 1970, Timothy married his beloved wife, Cheryl (née Woeckener). Together they welcomed two children, Amanda and Isaac.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dan.
Timothy is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl; his children, Amanda (Mandy) and Isaac (Zak), daughter in law, Leslie; his cherished grandchildren, Timothy Grant Jr. (Machaela), Maci Diggs, Davin Kask, and Kiyah (Dylan); and his great-grandchildren, Aubreanna, Cassius, Tyson, Oaklynn, Desean, Nyla, Christopher (Topher), and Roya.
Timothy will be remembered for his warmth, intelligence, and profound impact on those who knew him.
