Stanley (Stan the Man) Williams, a devoted family man, intellectual, and veteran, passed away on March 30, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on January 14, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Stanley was the son of the late Howard Williams and Christine Johnson.
A man of sharp intellect and boundless curiosity, Stanley was known for his love of learning. Whether he was diving into a complex math problem, researching historical events, or staying informed on world news, he possessed a mind that never stopped seeking knowledge. His passion for reading and his keen understanding of the world around him made him a captivating conversationalist.
In addition to his academic interests, Stanley was a gifted athlete who carried a lifelong love for sports. He also had a true passion for fashion and loved to dress, always presenting himself with style and care. Those who knew him best will remember his vibrant sense of humor and his ability to bring laughter to any room.
Stanley honorably served his country in the United States Army, enlisting on November 4, 1977. During his time in the service, he had the opportunity to travel and see the world, experiences that further shaped his perspective. He was presented with an honorable discharge on November 12, 1980. Following his time in the military, his journey took him through Washington, D.C., and Cowingsville, Pennsylvania, before he eventually returned home to his roots in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Above all his accomplishments, Stanley’s greatest joy was his family. He was a pillar of strength and a source of constant love for his daughter Keysia; grandson Mark (Chevon) and great grandchildren, Brooke, Jeremiah and Ma’Leah. He cherished every moment spent together, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Williams Sr. and Christine Johnson; his brothers, Jackie Robinson Williams, Howard Williams Jr; his sisters, Barbara Jean Williams and Betty Ross.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving daughter, Nakeysia Shamel; his beloved grandson, Mark Davis Jr. (Chevon Davis); his three loving great grandchildren, Brooke, Jeremiah, and Ma’Leah; his loving siblings, Ruth Whitfield, Mary Williams, Paulette Williams Valerie Williams, Jacqueline Wynn, and Rhonda Richard (Carlos Richard); his best friend, Harold Grissom; very special nephew, Stacey Williams, a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
