Sharon Charline Tate was born April 21, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Charles Croom and Mable Lee Croom. She departed this life peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2024 in her home surrounded by her children.
As a child, Sharon moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with her family. She accepted Christ at a young age and attended Southern Baptist Church for many years.
Sharon attended school at Sawyer Junior High and then onto high school at Courter Tech where she graduated top of her class.
Sharon joined the workforce early and worked at Cincinnati Bell as an operator and rose through the ranks to director of administrative support where she earned the nickname of TC (Top Cat). She was highly regarded and respected and was able to retire in her mid 40βs spending her entire career at Cincinnati Bell.
Sharon married Elbert Tate Sr. and born from this union was their 2 children Tiffany Johnson and Elbert Tate Jr. who they cherished and loved all their days.
Sharon was a lover of life and stood on her business. She was an avid reader and spent her retirement traveling with her family, friends especially her travel partner Helen Goodwin. She was also a member of the Red Hatters.
Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Mable Hudson, her daughter Tiffany K. Johnson (Willie) and son Elbert B Tate Jr, sister Lauressie Valentine, grandson Amari Tate, step grand-son Marquez, and step grand-daughter Jaelah and a host of nieces, nephews and step grandchildren and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Tate Sr, father Charles Croom and brother Ishmael Gilliam Jr.
