Sarah Lee Orso was born on October 28,
1930, to Abraham and Mary E. Dixon, in Selma,
Alabama. She was one of seven children. She
departed this life Sunday, July 13, 2014.
On May 3, 1954, she was united in Holy
Matrimony to Julius Orso II. They were blessed
with eight children: Ronald Dixon, Julius III,
Tammy, Vada, Michael and Geraldine Orso,
Catherine Dixon Wyche and Doris Jean Dixon.
Sarah was always willing to lend a helping
hand in taking care of others in need. She was
supportive of both family and friends. She was a
Jehovah Witness for 40 years. She attended Poro
Hair School. Following 37 years of domestic
work, she became a certified child care provider.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Julius Orso; two daughters, Catherine Wyche
and Doris Jean Dixon; one grandson, Claybon
Baker, Jr.; and three siblings, Roberta, Hubert
and Clarence.
She leaves to mourn her passing: children,
Ronald, Julius III, Tammy, Vada, Michael and
Geraldine; 23 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren
and 10 great-great-grandchildren; siblings,
Robert, Nettie and Ethel Mae; her devoted
sister-in-law, Rose Dixon and a daughter-in-law,
Carmen Orso; and a host of other relatives and
friends, including Bonnie, Carol, Deborah, Ms.
Elaina, Shadrick and Horace.
