No matter how hard life got, he kept going. Sometimes he had to make himself get up and do what needed to be done. Then came dementia-a foe he felt valiant. He continued to fight until he was at the end. I whispered “It’s ok, I know you’re tired. You go ahead, and I will meet you there!” ~Angel~
Russell Francis Robertson passed away on March 7, 2025 in Cincinnati Ohio after a long illness. He was born on May 8, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. He was baptized in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Russell was educated in the New York public system and graduated from James Madison High School. Following his graduation, He enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country with dedication. After completing his military service, He returned to Brooklyn and began his professional career. Russell began working at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City and was transferred to their offices in Dayton, Ohio. Throughout his career, He remained committed to his work and provided for those he loved.
From a young age, Russell had a passion for comic books and became an avid reader and collector, amassing a rich collection over the years. Family was central to Russell’s life. He was the youngest of four children and shared a close bond with his siblings. He survived by his wife, Angel, their son, Matt, his brother, William (Elizabeth), and sister-in-law Melvina; nephew’s, Russell Joseph, Michael, William II (Regina) Anthony, Ronald, and William; nieces, Roberta, Valerie, Sharlote, and a host of grandnephews and grandnieces.
Russell now joins and rest with his parents, Russell Sr. and Claudia; brother, Ronald; sister, Claudia, Frances, and niece Claudia Elizabeth.
Russell was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle who always extended a helping hand to those in need. His unwavering dedication to family was evident in the care he provided for his mother, sister and her children. Russell’s kindness and guidance left a lasting impact on those around him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
