Raymond L. Powell was born July 24, 1927 to the
union of Alme Davis and Clement Powell.
Raymond was from Chicago, Illinois then later moved
to Cincinnati, Ohio where he met Frances Cummings,
who later became his loving wife in 1943 and they had
three children: Yvonne, JoAnn and his son, Lavaughn.
Raymond and Frances went on to be married for 69 years,
up until his passing.
Raymond worked for Cincinnati Milling Machine from
where he later retired. He was an avid fisherman. He also
was in the Van Club of Cincinnati, and Masons.
Raymond met Christ early in life, and was even in a
Gospel Group called the Brown Brothers where they went
all over the country singing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
They even recorded songs that later became a record.
Raymond was stern, but always had a great sense of
humor, very thoughtful and generous, and always well
dressed. He loved to sing and dance. He always took pride
in his yard with which he won many awards for Best Yard
of the Year from the Kennedy Heights Association.
He is preceded in death by his son and three siblings
(two sisters and a brother). He is survived by: his loving
wife, Frances; two daughters, Yvonne and JoAnn; grandkids
and great-grandkids; and a host of nieces and nephews.
