Raymond Allen “Zoli” Kennedy was born on August 25, 1985 to Eliza and Ray Kennedy in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the only child shared between the two of them. He was called away to spend eternity with the Lord at the young age of 38 on July 12, 2024 after battling illness.
Raymond was a good-hearted fellow and was naturally funny without even trying. If you were ever to engage in conversation with him, he was definitely going to say something funny and at the same time, he would be serious while saying it. He would say just about anything in general conversation and have you in tears from laughing! No conversation with him would be complete without a sprinkle of his favorite sayings. One being “Ain’t no mystery”. And another being “Bless your heart” – and you already know what that meant!
He was passionate about fishing! It was his favorite pastime and would drop everything to go. On any given day where the weather was nice, he could be found enjoying his time on a lake.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones, especially if there was food involved! He always wanted to know who was cooking and what they were cooking. Holidays were some of his most favorite times.
Raymond was raised by his Aunt Betty from a young age along with her five children, Davese, Eddie, Tim, Marcus, and Andrew (In Heaven). He quickly became more than a cousin and was soon only thought of and referred to as their brother. He was given the nickname Zoli in his teenage years and has been lovingly called that ever since.
Raymond accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. But throughout his life, he had been saved many times! Anytime there was an altar call he would run to that altar! And he also got baptized several, several times. Needless to say, he was covered! He loved the Lord and with the utmost confidence would proclaim “God’s got me” no matter what was going on in his life, good or bad.
Raymond is survived by his children: Jada, Jarrin, and Ray Jr., his Aunt Betty, his Dear and Special Lady Joyce, Cousins/Siblings: Davese, Eddie, Tim, Marcus, and Lamont, Cousin/Brother-in-Law Daren, Cousins: Jackie and her children: Lamar, Simeon, Matthew, and Dominique, Jeanette and her children: Ashley, Ronnie, Talvin, Benjamin, and Gwendolyn, Cousins (Nieces & Nephews): Antoine, Brianna, Anaya, Marco, Jasaun, and Reagan, and a host of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Eliza Kennedy and his Grandmother Mary (May) Kennedy.
Our dear Raymond is now with the Lord, and he is already missed by all that knew and loved him. We know we will see you again. Rest in Heaven! We Love You!
