On February 19, 1957 God gave earthly life to Priscilla Maxine Arnold, the fourth of eight children to Rose Mary and King Glover. Her parents preceded her in death. Ressie spent most of her years growing up in Avondale and graduated from Woodward High School in 1975. On April 7, 2014 heaven received A Taste of Glory in the spirit of Priscilla ‘Ressie’ Arnold
Ressie was a loving mother of two boys and one girl. She made great sacrifice for the well being of her children. As they grew up, they all helped her in her catering business. If you knew Ressie, you knew she was one-of-a-kind; a bubbly personal- ity; a kind heart; never met a stranger; and greeted everyone with a smile. The party didn’t start until Reesie showed up to feed everyone and later cleaned up the dance floor to some ol’ school music. Reesie was the glue that held the Arnold family together after her mother passed away. Every holiday and planned family events, family and friends of the family looked forward to her cooking and hilar- ity. Many could tell you, “There always seemed to be enough. It was like the food just multiplied; the more you ate, the more there was.”
Ressie accepted Christ and was filled with the Holy Spirit on February 7, 1991, at Christ Emmanuel. She grabbed a hold of God with everything in her and never looked back or went back to her past life.
Ressie was a giver from the heart. She put a new meaning to the word “give”. Ressie literally sowed in the Kingdom and gave herself out of the strongholds of public assistance. Priscilla was known to visit Washington Park where she opened up her van and would just start feeding and ministering to people. Reesie had given away cars before Oprah started!! Prompted by the Holy Spirit, if she got wind that someone was in need she would be there willing to help. Having organ- ized a trip to the tornado-ridden residents of Alabama, Reesie pulled on the hearts of everyone she could get a hold of in Cincinnati to help, donate and visit the many homeless in the South who were displaced from their homes. Soon the birthing of the Isaiah 58:10 ministry of Christ Emmanuel was underway.
Ressie’s catering business/ministry, “A Taste of Glory”, afforded her the opportu- nity serve many area and national pastors, such as, Bishop Michael Dantley, Apos- tle Bennie Fluellen, Reverend Dr. H. L. Harvey, Reverend Damon Lynch III, the Cincinnati Baptist Ministers Alliance, Pastor John P. Kee, Bishop T.D Jakes, Rever- end Al Sharpton and her Christ Emmanuel family; as well as area civic organiza- tions; such as Community Action Agency, Cincinnati Police Department, the Cen- ter for Closing The Health Gap and the Campaigns to elect and re-elect President Barak H. Obama. Reesie’s life touched many; too many to be counted.
Ressie leaves to cherish her love and memories; one daughter, Rosemary Arnold; and two sons Lamont Arnold and Lamar Arnold; five brothers: Louis Arnold (Crystal), James Arnold (Debbie), William Arnold, Kevin Arnold (Inez), and Steve Wilson; three sisters: Marvinia Rushing, Catanna Gibson (Buck), Brenda Kennedy (Douglas) and her want-to-be sister/niece Melissa Rushing; five grandsons: La- mont Arnold, Jason Arnold, Kyree Arnold, Dante Sams, Amari Arnold; two God- sons Joshua Rushing and Geron Spencer Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
