Patricia Ann Williams White was born September 15, 1942, in Cincinnati Ohio. She was born to David Howard Williams and Helen Owens of Lincoln Heights, Ohio. She was the second eldest of her siblings. She was reared with love of her older sister Helen Elizabeth Owens and her younger brother Lucian Williams who preceded her in death.
She departed this life peacefully at her home in West Chester, Ohio at the of age 81 on Friday July 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Pat grew up in Cincinnati and attended Central High School and it was there where she met and fell in love with her childhood sweetheart Richard ‘Dickey’ White, Jr. She committed her life to Christ at an early age and she was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Cumminsville under the pastorship of Rev. Nick Samuels. She was a 60 + year member of the church. She served as a member of the Willing Workers auxiliary.
On October 29, 1960, Pat was united in holy matrimony by Reverend Nick Samuels to Richard Angris ‘Dickey’ (PawPaw) White and from this union they were blessed with six children: Shelena Marie, Mary Ann, Monica Lynn, Richard A. III, William Abdul, Travis Eugene. The children were reared with love, compassion, and faith. The couple renewed their wedding vows on July 12, 2008, under the Pastorship of Rev. George F. Southerland.
Pat had a passion for fashion. She had impeccable style and taste. She shared her love for jazz music with her husband and their favorite jazz artist was John Coltrane. She shared her love of rhythm and blues music with her children.
She loved to bake, cook, shop, play games of chance and traveling. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and her family. She was the president of her ladies’ club ‘La Chic’ that she formed with her co-workers and cousins during her employment at Keebler Company. She also worked at the voting polls during election time.
Pat started her work career in 1959 with Myers Meat company. She worked several jobs until she became an employee at Keebler Company in 1974. Pat worked at Keebler Company for 21 years and 7 months of dedicated service until she retired in March of 2001. The company later changed its name to Kellogg’s.
Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband, and loving grandson Cephus Harris, III.
Pat had a loving spirit with a great sense of humor and compassion that she leaves behind as the matriarch of her family. Her loving spirit will be forever cherished by Shelena Marie (Cephas, Jr.) Harris, Mary Ann Williams, Monica Lynn (Orlando) Weathington, Richard A. White, III, William Abdul White, Travis Eugene White, 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Pat will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives and other siblings that she loved dearly. The impact she left on our lives created a ripple effect that we will cherish forever as we celebrate the life of Patricia ‘Pat’ (MawMaw) White.
