Nina Bell Reece

March 19, 1923 - November 15, 2011

Nina Bell Reece, born in Athens, Georgia, was the
firstborn of six children. She and her brothers and sisters,
Roosevelt, the late Willie James, Spurgeon Jr., Dorothy
and Betty were born to the late Mader and Spurgeon
Mapp, Sr.
In 1947, she married the late Sylvester Reece, Jr. The
couple raised five children, the late William Polnett, Jr.
(Dorothy), Margie Polnett-Rogers (Gregory), Michael
Reece, Linda Reece and David Reece (Kimberly).
Ever since Nina confessed her faith in Jesus Christ
many years ago, she has demonstrated an amazing, unmoving
and steadfast love for Him no matter what trials came
her way.
Throughout her life, Nina has been widely known for
giving to those who didn?t have. A humanitarian, Nina
made sure those she loved and some that she didn?t know,
were fed, clothed and warm. We are graced by God and
privileged to witness a soldier of God stand in her faith
through great trials, many times with bright dancing eyes
and a radiating smile from her spirit, that drew those in
like a magnet, who came in contact with her. Her life
encourages her family and friends to stand unwavering in
Jesus Christ, trusting in Him even unto death.
She leaves to celebrate her journey: her children and
their spouses, a brother, a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
We?ll miss you mother, grandmother, auntie, sister,
mother-in-law, friend. But our hearts are at peace because
we will assuredly meet again.

I absolutely loved my grandmother! I absolutely miss my grandmother! I will always remember my grandmother! And this picture that I took at her birthday party captures so much of the beautifully classy woman that I am proud to have come from!

I am so sorry I was not there Grandma, to say my goodbye's. Your smile always made me feel warm and loved. You were the sweetest great grandmother I knew and funniest. I will always remember you Grandma Nina. With love, Bianca.

I love you Grandma Nina. I remember always fixing your room up when my mom brought us to visit. ;-) And you could never find anything...but I was there to find it for you. And I remember how soft your hands were. But now you are with my Grand dad and my little dog Angel and I'm sure I will see you again. I miss you too.

My mother, Nina Bell Reece was one of a kind. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ who was first in her life. She loved her children and her family and many, many friends. She was a very generous individual always sharing what she had and giving to her loved ones as well as to many people that she did not even know. Over the years I have seen her buy things just to have on hand in case someone needed something. She will be sorely missed! I am proud that she is my mother! The Bible says, "When Uzziah died I saw the Lord." During her last days I was priviledged to witness God through her in a way I never had before. "In our weakness, he is made strong", came to life for me. He showed and taught me to trust him in any event or circumstance.
