Minnie Mae Cole-Price was born in Meridian, Mississippi on March 9, 1926 to the late Lee and Viola Cole. She confessed Christ at an early age. Upon relocating to Cincinnati, Ohio, she joined the New Unity Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. A.A. Freeman and served faith-fully as a member of the Starlight Gems Choir, Mass Choir and the Missionary Board until her health failed.
Affectionately known as ?Minnie Mae? to friends and family who knew and loved her, she has led a very faithful and abundant life. Minnie Mae dedicated her life to serving God, her family and her church. She truly enjoyed being a blessing to others. With a compassionate smile, she loved visiting the sick and preparing gifts to distribute to the various nursing facilities.
Minnie Mae was joined in Holy Matrimony with Walter Price, Sr., and to this union was born: Walter Jr., Margie and Diane. Minnie enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb when it came to her beautiful plants. She enjoyed wood crafting and building items. Before relocating to Cincinnati, Minnie was employed at a photography studio, taking and developing her own pictures, and also was employed by the Meridian?s Department of Public Education as an elementary school teacher, which was her passion.
Minnie was an active member of the Meridianites Cincinnati Chapter and loved to travel, which she did extensively. During her retirement, she enjoyed cooking/baking, working on church committees, traveling and spending time with those she loved so dearly. She was a good and faithful servant. Minnie loved family and especially her children. She was an excellent example of a virtuous woman. She loved the Lord with all her heart and truly strived to do his will.
On December 18, 2011, Minnie Mae heard the voice of Jesus and answered his call, and went to her heavenly home to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, L.B. Cole and Jessie Lee Cole; two sister-in-laws, Dorothy Burnes-Cole and Johnnie Cole.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Walter Price, Sr.; one son, Elder Walter Murrell Price; two daughters, Margie Eulanda Price and Diane Mae Price; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a dear friend, Mrs. Iris Munday.
