Michael Lewis Dorman was born on December 19, 1960, to the late Willie Lee Dorman Sr. and Johnnie Mae Dorman in Cincinnati, Ohio. He departed this life on April 18, 2025, after God in his infinite wisdom, power, and love withdrew his last breath of life.
In 2015 Michael married Barbara Dunn. Although there were no children from this union, they both embraced, supported, and loved all of their children and young adults in the family.
Michael’s early years were spent in the Cincinnati neighborhoods of Walnut Hills, Evanston, and Kennedy Heights. He attended Cincinnati Public Schools. When the family moved to Forest Park he attended and graduated from Winton Woods High School and Scarlet Oaks Technical.
Michael enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduation. Upon discharge from the service, Michael worked in several industries. His strong entrepreneurial spirit led him to start and operate small service oriented businesses over his lifetime.
Michael shared a passion for playing guitar and singing with many of his long time band members. His group worked in R&B, Funk, and the Blues. However, in his later years he focused on the Blues. Michael became a gifted guitarist and vocalist working with his group.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Willie L. Dorman Sr.; mother, Johnnie Mae Dorman; and sister, Hana Lacey.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son Ama’Tari Stoudemire; his granddaughter; his sisters, Julie Harper, Christine Dorman, and Carol Hendrix; his brothers, Willie L. Dorman Jr. and Jeffrey Dorman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
