Mattie Howell Robins was born in White Plains, Georgia on June 30, 1926, to the late William Sr. and Eva Howell (Akins). She departed this life December 28, 2011 at East Galbraith Nursing Home, where she was attended to for many years, with the best of care.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her loving daughter, Barbara Newell; and her grandson, John Newell, Jr.
On December 25, 1940, she married William Robins, Sr. and to this union were born three children: Barbara, Shirley and William Jr.
Mattie was a proud woman with much love for her family. Her home was always open to anyone who needed help. She was kind and lov-ing with a heart affectionately full of Christ?s spirit; always wanting to do the right thing. She was a very spiritual person and attended church regularly. She confessed Christ at an early age. Later, in 1975, she was baptized as a Seventh Day Adventist. She kept the faith until the last day of her life. ?She loved the Lord.?
She leaves to mourn her passing: her devoted and loving daughter, Shirley Gaddis, along with her son, William Robins, Jr.; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Alesia), Nicola Ison (Donald), Landon and June Naté Robins; seven grand-children, Juan, Timothy, Kayla, Joshua, Devon, Jonathan Jr. and Nico; one great-grandchild, Aaliyah Ison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
