Mary Palmer was born on June 12, 1939 to the late
Fitzhugh and Betty Chewning. She went home to be with
the Lord on Friday, February 24, 2012. She was born and
raised in Virginia.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Indian
Ridge Baptist Church of Virginia where she served on
various ministries. She moved to Cincinnati in 1998 to be
closer to her children, where she joined Southern Baptist
Church on Christian experience under Pastor C. Dennis
Edwards.
She was united in marriage to the late Maylon Casey,
and to this union, six children were born.
She leaves to mourn her passing, but forever cherish
her memory: her devoted children, Benjamin S. (Leeann)
Casey of Las Vegas, Mark A. (Janeasia) Casey, Clarissa A.
(Roland) Gamble, Jeannette E. Gardenhire, Brenda L.
(Jimmy) Greene and Jacqueline L. Brown; one brother,
Sylvester Chewning of Delaware, Pennsylvania; two sisters-in-
law, Estelle Chewning of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
and Christine Chewning of Washington, D.C.; one son-inlaw,
Johnny Brown; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren;
two good friends, Doris Harrison and Robert
Leftwich; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family
and friends.
