On September 6, 1923, Marion Harrison was born to the union of Arnada and Chester Blanchard in Maben, Missis-sippi. Marion had 4 siblings who preceded her in death. Lewis Blanchard (Willena), Reola Miller (Robert), John Davidson (Edith) and Uncle R.B. Harley (Pearl) shared her beginnings.
Marion united with Willie D. Emery, Sr. They were blessed with 3 wonderful children, Willie D. Emery, Jr., Lillie Neal Champion and Charles Emery (Brenda). She was a hard working, dedicated, devoted and proud mother who strived for excellence for herself and her children. She taught her children good work ethics, the importance of cleanliness and respecting others. Most importantly, she taught the importance of family and having a relationship with God.
In 1943, Marion and her family moved to Cincinnati where she became a faithful and committed member of Revelation Baptist Church. She proudly served the church in a number of ways. She served as an usher, in the Children?s Ministry, as a Bereavement Committee member, a member of the Circle Club #4, a Missionary and her favorite mission in the church was to sing in the choir. Most church mem-bers would say she was a hard working member, one of the best cooks, and one of the best-dressed women in church. Most would say that she was a quiet, yet classy kind of woman. Who didn?t love Marion?
In 1961, Marion was proudly initiated to the Order of Eastern Star Ruth Chapter #14. She became a loyal officer and served the chapter faithfully until her health began to fail in 1997.
Revelation Baptist Church is where she met her second husband, Roland Harrison.
After 30 years of employment at the Children?s Hospital, Marion retired as a Surgical Technician. She really enjoyed her job. She was very instrumental in helping underprivi-leged children to get needed medical assistance.
Marion was blessed to be loved by 12 grandchildren: Karen Emery, Quincy Emery, Ricky Neal (Glenicia), Kimberly Neal Kierce (Herbert), Monica Neal, Bobby Cowan, Carletta Emery, Jr., Charles Emery, Jr. (Tracy), DeMarco Emery (Ana), DeMarla Emery, Oko Emery, Lumo Emery, Maya Emery, Dominique Emery and Phillip Emery.
She also treasured a host of great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
