Leah, I first of all want to say I am so sorry for your loss, your mother was always very kind and I can honestly still remember her voice from being at your house all of time. I recently drove through the neighborhood and pointed out your house to my 9 year old son and told him about you. He enjoys hearing stories about my childhood, your family was a big part of it and they were always lovely. I still remember your unique split level house and eating like 3 grape jelly sandwiches in your kitchen. They were so good! Anyways, sending love, thoughts and prayers to you and your family. -Katherine Stetz

My cousin Marilyn taught me how to make a belt. I think I was six or seven. She was finishing the bridesmaids’ belts for her wedding and I was her helper. Because of her I wanted a sewing machine and when I bought one years later, I excitedly told her about all of the things that I wanted to learn to make. Everything that I have ever made started with knowing how to make that belt, even the masks that I sewed. She embodied beauty, creativity, intelligence and whimsy. To know her laugh is to know the whimsy. How blessed are we that this beautiful soul is a part of our journey? We are blessed, indeed. Spencer, Tamara, Dana, Leah and Ky I love you all.

Merly, (as you know I’ve never called you this in person, lol but I love this name for you, Leah knows). You’ve been a light within my life without even knowing the impact you’ve imprinted. 36 years ago you birthed my best friend; that was your first imprint that neither you nor I knew the depth and power in which that held for my life. Without Leah, Idk if I would be me. You created and reared such beautiful, strong willed, determined, dignified women. All of which are beautiful inside and out. You’ve dedicated your life to being the center of your family. While also standing firmly beside your husband. I salute you for every battle or experience you never mentioned and overcame, for being the stern voice when needed, for being rational when irrational decisions were presented. Thank you for being so kind; thank you for being a great mother; thank you for being a dedicated faithful wife, and loving family member to all; thank you for being an amazing grandmother. Thank you for always welcoming me into your home. Thank you for allowing me to witness a glimmer of your inner beauty and the sparkle in your eyes when you laughed. I’ll truly miss you forever. May you rest in power. With Love always and forever. - Jasmine

Knowing and being one of Leah's closest friends for almost 18 years, it is no secret the monumental figure her mother was in her family. Her strong values, character, words of wisdom and love for her family, husband, brothers, children, grandson and everyone around her was unmatched. The way she would always say, "hey ashley" in her sweet southern drawl always put a smile on my face. She will definitely be missed and there is no way any of us could have prepared for this, I just ask that she continue guiding everyone from above and I pray the strength that she had within continues to radiate in everyone who loves her or had the blessing to know and love her. <3 we love you "Merl" love ashley
