It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Malik Omar Khalid aka Cozy, aged 23, on August 14, 2024.
Born on March 5, 2001, Malik was known for his infectious smile, boundless energy, quiet strength, and compassionate spirit, and he was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him.
Malik grew up in Hamilton, Ohio, where he attended Fairfield High School and later pursued his passion for Architecture and Engineering at Miami University. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend, and his kindness and generosity touched everyone he met.
Malik brought joy and warmth wherever he went, whether through his love for exercise, gaming, or his dedication to his podcast.
Though his time with us was far too short, Malik lived his life fully and fearlessly, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Abi Lawal and Henry Effon; his sibling, Annie Coffie; Aunty Elizabeth Sulzberger; his cousins Nadine Sulzberger and Nicole Bales; and a wide circle of friends and extended family.
