Lillian Williams was born May 9, 1936, to the late A.V. and Hattie Mae (Mullins) Rankins. She was determined to complete her high school education, which she did in 1987. It was one of her proudest moments.
Lillian?s many talents included: crocheting (her special type of doily); knitting (probably every family member has a product of her beautiful work); caregiving (to family members who truly needed her love and support); and cooking (at Bethesda Baptist and at home for all comers). Holidays were her special days for feeding EVERYONE.
Lillian began her Christian journey at Revelation Baptist Church at an early age. She later became a member of Bethesda Baptist along with her brother, William and his family. She enjoyed many years of service at Bethesda.
She had creative jobs for most of her years. Those of us who knew her well, remember that she had keys, keys, keys. Her unfailing hospitality will be missed by all who knew her.
Lillian is survived by: one niece, Linda Swire (Gil); three nephews, William Jr., Anthony and Timothy; a special cousin, Gloria Stewart; and a host of cousins and great-nieces and nephews, both locally and in Alabama.
