Leonard “Pierre” Perry, born May 17, 1965, was the beloved son of the late Cynthia Payne and the late Alfred Barker. He was lovingly raised by James Payne as his own, who married Cynthia Payne becoming a guiding presence and father figure throughout his life, playing a significant role in his upbringing.
Leonard is preceded in death by his grandmother Elizabeth Walker; grandfather, Laydell Akemon Sr.; uncle, Marvin Manor; two aunts, Lucille English and Kharla Coleman.
Leonard started attending Bethlehem Baptist Church as a child. He received his high school equivalent certificate. He then went on to study Business Management and Business Calculus, receiving a certificate from Urbana University. Leonard loved learning, which led him to gain certificates in Introduction to Drafting and CADD and Skid Steer Loading. He attended the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati and was in the Ohio Valley Construction Apprenticeship program, landing him a job at Messer Construction.
Fashion was his thing which inspired him to acquire a vendors license and open his very own “Perry’s Fashion Alley” online store.
Leonard leaves to cherish his memory: a loving father, James Payne; two loving brothers, Stanley Perry and Jimmie Payne Sr.; two loving sisters, Carmen Payne and Alysia Barker; four nephews, Juan Johnson Sr., Jimmie Payne Jr., Quirinius Payne and (the late) Myron Barker; three nieces, Arion White (Chris), Linda Bonner, and Diontra Booker; three great nieces, Kamarri Johnson, Layla White, and Serenity Bennett; four great nephews, Juan Johnson Jr., Christopher White Jr., Jaiden Johnson, and Romeo Payne; one uncle, Charles Perry; one aunt, Patricia Larrieu; three close cousins, Sheila Phillips, Bridgette Ridgeway, and Emiko Locke; and a host of other great nieces, great nephews, relatives, and friends.
