Lenzie Lamont Sanders was born July 11, 1974
in Cincinnati, Ohio to Lenzie and Laura (Lolly)
Sanders. Lamont grew up in Springdale, Ohio and
graduated from Princeton High School in 1992. From
elementary through high school, he was a tremendously
gifted athlete. He lettered in Varsity Football,
Basketball and Track. Second, only to sports, Lamont
loved music. He always regretted never learning to
play a musical instrument, because music was one of
his passions.
At the age of 10, Lamont accepted Christ, was
baptized and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church
family under the pastorate of Rev. Henry W. Jones.
He sang in the Children’s Choir, the Youth Choir and
served on the Youth Usher Board. He also played on
the Mt. Zion basketball team under the leadership of
the youth pastor, Rev. Brian Woodson.
While at Princeton High School, Lamont had the
privilege of playing wide receiver on the State Runnerup
Championship Football Team. Also, he was privileged
to run on one of Princeton High School’s
fastest mile relay teams at the State Track Meet in
1992 in Columbus, Ohio.
Following high school, Lamont attended Alabama
State University in Montgomery, Alabama for two and
one half years. He returned to Cincinnati enrolling at
the University of Cincinnati. Later, he attended the
Cincinnati School of Barbering and earned a Professional
Barber’s License.
After spending several years as a professional barber,
Lamont became a fine jewelry sales associate
for Osterman Jewelers in Cincinnati. He was honored
to achieve “Distinguished Top Sales Associate” on
numerous occasions and was promoted to Assistant
Store Manager at Osterman Jewelers in Tri-County
Mall. He earned certification as a diamontologist and
later as a gemologist. Part of his responsibilities
included analyzing the quality and value of gemstones.
Lamont also worked for Kay Jewelers, Jared
Galleria of Jewelry and Rogers Jewelers in Kenwood
Towne Centre. Later, Lamont worked at Fred Meyer
Jewelers in Anderson Township. He returned to
barbering, which he truly loved, until May 14, 2014.
Lamont was married to Sharmia Karim in 2001,
and to this union, two beautiful daughters, Alexis and
Kennedy were born. Later, he was blessed with
another beautiful daughter, Khyle, with his loving
companion, Mariyha. He was a caring and devoted
father to his girls. They were the “love of his life.” He
shared his love of sports, music and social charm
with his daughters.
Lamont was the joy of his parents’ lives. They
never missed a parent conference, a school songfest,
a football game, a basketball game, a baseball game,
or a track meet. They shared their lives to the end
and the memory of their bond will last forever.
Lenzie Lamont Sanders passed suddenly on
Sunday morning, May 18, 2014. He leaves to cherish
his memory: his loving parents, Lenzie and Laura
Sanders; daughters, Alexis, Kennedy and Khyle
Sanders; his loving companion, Mariyha Owens; his
sister, Robin French of Georgia; his uncle, Joe
Sanders of Indiana; great-uncle, James (Lillian) Hall

his soul has now joined them in eternity.
