Kenneth (Kenny) was born November 26, 1948, to Junius and Amaza Goode in Severn, North Carolina. He attended Northampton County Schools until our family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio.
At that time, we were all very young. In Cincinnati, Kenny attended Shield Elementary, Heinold Jr. High, and he graduated from Hughes High School.
In 1967, Kenneth enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corp. He attended communications school at U.S. Marine Corps center at Camp Pendleton in California. During his recruit training he won a marksmanship badge and was chosen as a group leader of his unit. Shortly after boot camp, he received orders to go to Vietnam. During his tour of duty, in Vietnam, he was hit by shrapnel and received the purple heart for heroism. Kenny was honorably discharged with full disability.
He was a bit of a jokester and had a comedic personality even in school. During his youthful days, his uncle Robert Earl was like a brother to him, playing baseball, horseshoes, and getting into trouble together. His favorite pastime was taking the Metro and going to the Greater Cincinnati Airport just to watch the airplanes.
Kenneth traveled to various cities by car and had the chance to travel by air to the Bahama Islands. He loved the special place he called home with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother Amaza, father Junius, and his youngest brother Bruce. He was truly loved by his great grandmother Maggie Manley.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory brother Clarence, youngest sister Pamela, and sister Jacqueline “Yvonne” Floyd (Larry), his uncles, Matthew (Martha), Robert, and William; aunts, Evelyn and Katherine Walden; and a host of cousins, nieces. Nephews, great nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
