Kenneth (Kenny) Dewayne Howell was born November 26, 1972 to Virgil and Jessie Howell and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 2, 2015. Kenny was born and raised primarily in Cincinnati, Ohio. During his junior year of high school the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he completed school at Warrensville Heights High School. Kenny attended Kent State University and ultimately completed his Bachelors of Art in Social Worker at the University of Cincinnati in 2010.
Growing up, Kenny was a rambunctious child who enjoyed playing sports (i.e. football, basketball and baseball) and spending time with his family and friends. Kenny was never short of telling stories about various funny childhood memories and ending it with a lesson learned statement that would make you say, “Is he being serious or playing around.”
Kenny was preceded in death by his father Virgil Howell, and grandparents Cecil & Odessa Howell, Jessie Harris and John Sr. & Ann Hand. Kenny’s legacy and memory will be carried on by his parents Jessie Howell and John Hand Jr; sisters Lisa Smith and Tiffany Hand; children, Amber Howell Jasmine Greenwood, Xavier Howell and Mariah Howell; and many other loved ones including the mother of his children Tabitha Howell and Marcia Barnes, domestic partner Brenda Morgan, grandmother Peggy Harris and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Kenny’s funeral service is for Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:00am and will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church, 1580 Summit Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45237. To celebrate Kenny’s love for family, friends and laughter, please join the family for a bowling party at 7:00pm at Brentwood Bowl, 9176 Winton Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45231. The family encourages all to wear colorful attire during the funeral service that depicts the vibrant life Kenny led.
