Julie Sims was a loving mother, devoted sister, proud grandmother, and a steady presence to everyone who knew her. She passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 60, leaving behind a family forever changed by her love.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Jewell Willis and David Whigham, Julie remained deeply rooted in the city she called home. She attended Withrow High School and carried with her the values she learned early in life—strength, compassion, and the importance of showing up for the people you love.
Julie spent much of her life caring for others, whether through her work or simply through the way she listened, encouraged, and gave of herself without hesitation. She worked various jobs over the years, always doing what was needed for her family. Later in life, she found her greatest joy in retirement, when she could devote her time and heart to her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.
Julie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Jewell Willis, whom she missed deeply.
She leaves behind her children—Alicia, Jeffery, Ariel, Branden, Ajaylia, Lawrence, Imani, Larry, and Austin—each of whom carries a piece of her love, strength, and spirit. She is also survived by her sister, Suzette Lewis, and her eleven grandchildren, who brought her endless smiles, laughter, and pride.
Julie will be remembered for her warm heart, her fierce love for her family, and the quiet strength with which she faced life. Her presence was a comfort, her love was steady, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
