Joyce Ann Drexelius went to be with the Lord suddenly on Monday, August 23, 2021, from a heart attack. While she will be missed by many, we are thankful that she is again in the arms of her beloved husband Bill, who died in 2016. Her final breaths were spent surrounded by love and her family at Mercy Health Fairfield, Ohio.
Joyce was born September 21, 1962, in Caruthersville Missouri, to the late Leonard Williamson and Margaret D. Strawther (Lee). Her family moved to Cincinnati Ohio when she was a young girl where she started her family.
Joyce was introduced to the love of her life, the late William “Bill” Drexelius by her brother in-law Vaughn Drexelius. Their 31 years of marriage on earth were blessed with 3 children, Nicole (deceased at birth), and is survived by her sons that she loved dearly, Christopher and Cameron Drexelius.
Joyce was a faithful, positive, loving woman who loved God, her family and church. She attended Western Hills High School and continued her education at University of Cincinnati. She worked in the IT field as a Project Manager for Siemens IT Solutions (4 years) and a Data Application Administrator for Xerox (12 years) before retiring in 2011. She enjoyed cruising and traveling with her family. She was a foodie that indulged in the best cuisines around. She baked the world’s best macaroni & cheese, 7-up pound cake and a host of other dishes. She also enjoyed singing, attending church services at Tylersville Road Christian Church and Carthage Christian Church.
Joyce’s loving memories will be cherished by her sons Christopher and Cameron along with her brothers, Leonard (Teachie) Strawther, Alvin Strawther, and her sisters Mary Ann Strawther, and Linda (Herbert) Williamson; her brothers and sisters in-law Vaughn, Theresa, Bob, Mike, Dawn and Beth Drexelius, and Josh Downie; and a host of cousins, nephews nieces, extended family, and friends.
