John Lee Richard was born in Cincinnati, Ohio November 8, 1947 to the late John Richard Sr., and Ramona Evans. He was the second of nine children. John Lee received his promotion to Glory on Monday, July 28, 2014.
He was raised in the Lockland and Lincoln Heights area attending Wayne School and Lockland High School.
John Lee spent time in Hartford, CT where he developed his skill in the drywall trade working alongside his father, John Richard, Sr. who owned his own Drywall Company. A dedicated and hardworking man, he worked as an Independent Contractor in Hartford and the Greater Cincinnati area. He was an extremely gifted, hardworking man that had a passion for this type of work and didn’t mind teaching and sharing his expertise with anyone he met. He assisted in building, and remodeling many homes and even passed this gift on to a few of his sons. John Lee kept working until his health began to fail and was no longer able to, however he would still share his skill and knowledge with those he came in contact with.
In his free time he enjoyed Jazz and Reggae music. He was so lovingly referred to as “Pops” and “Uncle John Lee”. He had such a loving way with children. His grandchildren, nieces and nephews always enjoyed being in his presence and he spoiled all of them. John Lee had a heart for everyone, never met a stranger and was always so kind and generous. If you needed it and he had it, you could guarantee John Lee would give it without hesitation. He was simply a “loveable” man!!
John Lee was preceded in death by his dear parents, John Richard, Sr. and Ramona Evans; his beloved children, John Richard and Scott Richard, his brother, Larry Carlos Richard and his grandparents, Earl and Lucille Parrish.
