John Albert Bransford, a dedicated family man, devoted church member, and proud public servant, passed away peacefully at the age of 88. Born on December 24, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, John was the beloved son of Kenneth Bransford and Etolia Bransford (Coleman). He grew up in Indianapolis and was a proud graduate of the Crispus Attucks High School Class of 1954. He attended Ball State University for a few years before relocating to Cincinnati, Ohio. John dedicated 33 years of his career to the United States Postal Service, where he worked diligently until his retirement. His life was marked by deep commitment, especially to his faith and his community. John was a faithful member of New Life Missionary Baptist Church for many years. His devotion led him to serve in numerous capacities within the church, including sharing his knowledge and faith as a Sunday School teacher and ensuring members could attend services by driving the church van. He also enjoyed a lively social life, and one of his favorite pastimes was bowling as a member of a local senior bowling team. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred, whom he married on January 23, 1988.
A Cherished Legacy
John leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, his loving children: E Maurice Bransford (Glenda) of Virginia, Morya Bransford of Arizona, Robin Jamison of Virginia, Terry Bransford (LaDonna) of Ohio, and Etoria Renee Bransford of Ohio. He was a proud grandfather to: Tiaree Bransford, Twyla Logan, Ardon (Jess) Bransford, Brittany Bransford, Jarrett Jamison, Jalon Bransford, Andre Bransford, and Emani Figgins. He is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, a special friend, Janeen Johnson, and a host of other friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Etolia Bransford; brothers Ernest and Gilbert Bransford; sister Maceola Bransford; and son Fredrick Darnell Bransford. John leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and service that will be cherished by all who knew him.
