Jaytwan Lamont Smith was born April 28, 1982 to parents, Stephanie Frazier-Taylor and Jeff Smith. He was always naturally athletic and excelled at baseball, basketball and football. He was an inquisi- tive kid who enjoyed taking toys and other house- hold items apart to see how they worked. He was very intelligent, could speak French well, and was always a natural leader. After earning his high school diploma, he studied at Cincinnati State for a brief time. He was currently employed as a Shipping and Fulfillment Specialist at Easter Seals.
Jaytwan had a calm spirit, was always smiling, laughing, and a bunch of fun within his circle. Depending on when you saw him, he might not have said but two words to you or he may have talked to you until the sun came up! While he had a tough exterior, he had a very big heart and loved hard. He loved his family and always said I love you in conver- sations and before departing or hanging up the phone. He also had some great friends and loved “MTA”.
Jaytwan was baptized at an early age and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He had his trials and tribulations in life as we all do, but in 2007 with the birth of his first child, he vowed to get his life right so he could be the best dad possible, and he did. He loved his girls more than anything and was even more excited and overjoyed about having a new baby girl. He took the role of being “Daddy” very seriously and put his girls before everything. He wanted them to always know they are special and loved no matter what.
He was preceded in death by his little brother, Jarred, who he talked about often and we all know he loved and missed. We all have comfort in knowing that they are now together again and their combined love will live in us all.
He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Stephanie Frazier-Taylor (Johnny); father, Jeffrey Smith; grandparents, George and Gloria Randolph; daughters, Jesiah and Jayah Smith; siblings, Janine Smith, Bridgette Murrell, Clarissa Goosby, Keshia Kinney (Daniel), Brian Wallace and Lajuan Horton; niece, Tyela Segar and nephew, Jamarcus Walker; girlfriend, Rana Michelle Powell (Jaylah and Jada); and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family and friends.
