Ieshia Fayzette (Magby) Fitzgerald was born July 30, 1970, in Cleveland, Ohio to Hayward and Leola Hughes. She passed away at Mercy Fairfield Hospital after a 3-year fight against cancer on October 27, 2024.
She had a younger brother, Lee Hughes Jr. In 1989, she graduated from Jane Adams Executives after successfully completing their data entry program. In March of the following year, she gave birth to her first child, Roderick Steven Jr. In 1996, she and her son moved from Cleveland to Cincinnati to settle down with her soon-to-be husband Roderick Steven Fitzgerald Sr. During this time, she began working at the popular cosmetics company, Avon, where she made many good friends over her career until her recent passing. Two years after moving to Cincinnati, in October, she gave birth to their second child – a daughter – Shane Alexandra. June 4th of the following year, she and Roderick Sr. married, giving her a mother-in-law, Margaret, a brother-in-law, Gregory, and six sisters-in-law: Vickie, Nita, Renee, Patricia, Kimberly, and Monica.
They retreated for a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas and began a happy married life raising their two children, grandly celebrating every holiday around the year including Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Halloween – which she loved to dress up for – birthdays, and Black Friday while Valentine’s Day was her favorite. She loved cooking, baking, and going all out for these holidays for her children and stepchildren, Ciaran and Ryan. In her free time, she enjoyed trips to amusement parks, Kings Island and Cedar Point. Crocheting, gardening, and collecting flowers were some of her favorite hobbies. She loved to laugh at funny videos, chat on the phone with her aunts in the morning, dance, listen to her favorite music at night, and made sure to go on trips back north to visit her family in Cleveland.
Ieshia is survived by her husband Roderick Steven Sr.; son Roderick Steven Jr.; daughter Shane Alexandra; expectant granddaughter; stepchildren Ryan Justin and Ciaran Alyse, step-granddaughter Asali, her brother Lee Hughes Jr., her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many others who love and cherish her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayward and Leola, her stepfather Edward Baker, and her mother-in-law, Margaret Fitzgerald.
Ieshia Fitzgerald will be gravely missed but never forgotten by those who knew and loved her as well as the grandchildren she had yet to meet.
